Jubilee Insurance, East Africa’s leading composite insurer with over 1.9 million clients, is seeking a Senior Officer – ESG to join their team at the Head Office in Nairobi. This is a unique opportunity to drive sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the region.
About the Role
As the Senior Officer – ESG, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Jubilee’s ESG agenda by integrating sustainability into corporate strategies and operations. You’ll work closely with the Regional Head of ESG to develop and implement ESG frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of sustainability across Jubilee Holdings Limited (JHL) entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a group-wide ESG strategy aligned with corporate goals.
- Coordinate ESG initiatives across multiple entities, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency.
- Collect, analyze, and report ESG data to meet regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Engage stakeholders through training, awareness programs, and sustainable supply chain policies.
- Drive innovation and advocate for practices that enhance environmental and social impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 2–3 years of experience in sustainability or ESG-focused roles, preferably in the financial sector.
- Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, strategic, and analytical skills with a passion for sustainability.
