Accountant – Canonical (Remote, EMEA or London Office)
Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is seeking an exceptional Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team and help prepare the business for public market scrutiny as we plan for an IPO. About the Role
As an Accountant at Canonical, you’ll play a key role in month-end reporting, statutory audits, and process improvements. You’ll work closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with IFRS and support our IPO readiness. This role can be based remotely in EMEA or in our London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in month-end reporting to deliver timely and accurate financial information.
- Take ownership of specific ledger processes and support year-end audits.
- Improve the efficiency of financial processes and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues outside the finance team to build strong relationships.
- Stay updated on IFRS standards and contribute to IPO preparation.
What We’re Looking For
- Exceptional academic and career performance with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CPA, etc.).
- Experience in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate accounting department.
- Proficiency in NetSuite or similar enterprise-grade systems.
- Willingness to travel up to four times per year for team sprints.
