Systems Accounting Manager – Canonical (Remote, EMEA)
Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is seeking a Systems Accounting Manager to join our global team. This is a remote role based in EMEA, with the option to work from our London office. You’ll lead revenue accounting processes, systems, and reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS 15 and driving automation across our financial operations.
About the Role
As the Systems Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee revenue recognition, contract reviews, and systems integration, working closely with teams across product management, legal, FP&A, and sales operations. You’ll also lead a team of accounting professionals, mentor colleagues, and ensure the accuracy and speed of our financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead NetSuite configuration, workflows, and integrations to optimize revenue accounting processes.
- Drive end-to-end automation of the revenue lifecycle across systems like NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Review and evaluate revenue recognition for non-standard contracts and new products.
- Assist in month-end revenue close, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors for order-to-cash matters.
- Mentor and develop a team of revenue and systems accounting professionals.
What We’re Looking For
- An exceptional academic track record and an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification with expertise in IFRS 15 and SaaS revenue accounting.
- Leadership experience and a track record of driving process improvements in high-growth environments.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and experience in multi-country, multi-currency operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to travel twice a year for company events.
