The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking a Finance Facility Advisor to support the South China Sea Project (SCS-SAP). This is a home-based retainer role focused on developing sustainable financing mechanisms for marine and coastal ecosystem initiatives.

About the Role:

As the Finance Facility Advisor, you will review existing financing facilities, engage stakeholders, and propose a strategic framework for a sustainable financing mechanism. Your work will contribute to strengthening blue economy initiatives and innovative financing in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review existing financing and grant facilities to identify best practices and collaboration opportunities.
  • Engage stakeholders, including donors, development banks, and regional organizations, to secure commitments for collaboration.
  • Develop an options paper with recommendations for strengthening blue economy financing.
  • Formulate a strategic framework and institutional infrastructure for a new or integrated financing facility.
  • Define financing plans, resource generation strategies, and protocols for accessing grants.

Requirements:

  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s) in Finance, Business Management, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree with additional experience may be accepted).
  • Minimum of 7 years of international work experience in sustainable impact financing, climate finance, or similar fields.
  • Experience in sustainable finance mechanisms (e.g., green bonds, blue bonds, ESG) and grants management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and economic analysis is highly desired.
  • Experience with international or regional organizations is an advantage.
